Optimal fluidity, easy to wash out, can also be used as flower dipping wax. Waxes should be melted in a melting vessel (e.g. tin can) over boiling water. The melting temperature of this wax is 80-85ºC. It is imperative to note the melting vessel should never be placed directly over an open flame or on a cooker plate. There is otherwise a danger of fire! Never try to extinguish burning wax with water!
The melted batik wax is then applied to a piece of uncoloured linen or cotton cloth, as desired. When the wax has hardened, this is dipped into a dye bath, in order to dye the wax-free areas. This painting and dying process can be repeated several times, in order to create exclusive designs using a corresponding dying process. When the work has been completed, the batik wax can be washed out in a container over hot water at about 90ºC.
If the batik wax is used for flower dipping wax, the dried flowers or leaves should be briefly dipped into the warm melted wax at about 80ºC. Thus the plants are covered in preserving wax.
Tjanting Tools are used for applying wax to fabrics. Made of cast brass the spherical bowl keeps the wax liquid.
The moment the spout touches the working surface, the wax will flow, preventing the wax from dripping onto undesirable places. Easy to use and comes in a variety of sizes.

Dye fixer is for use with our Batik Dyes on most natural fabrics
It allows designs to be cold fixed by covering the design with the fixer and leaving in a sealed plastic bag, for a minimum of two hours or up to several days.
Once the time has elapsed the fixer is rinsed from the fabric using clean water.
The fabric should then be laundered in the normal way.
It is recommended that children use this product under supervision.
Professional quality batik pot for melting wax. The shallow bowl holds up to 0.3 litres of wax, which means you can leave shorter tools and stamps in the wax without the worry that they will sink in.
