Conté colors is a drawing instrument made from pressed graphite or charcoal powder mixed on a wax or clay base. It was invented in 1795 by the Frenchman Nicolas-Jacques Conté, who had the idea of combining graphite with clay to deal with the shortage of English graphite caused by the naval blockade of France by the British navy during the Napoleonic Wars. Conté pencils had the advantage of being cheap to manufacture and easy to produce in varying degrees of hardness.
Specially designed for sketching and drawing. The highly pigmented, rich, opaque and long-lasting color chalks.
The size of these chalks, or Carrés, is perfect for thick and thin strokes for rough or detailed sketches.
The set includes 12 chalk in the colors: bistre, dark green, bright red, medium yellow, black, pink, orange, white, yellow ochre, cobalt blue, Saint Michel green, dark ultramarine.

A standard delivery charge of €6.95 will be applied to the majority of orders under €150. We usually don't charge delivery for orders over €150. Other charges may apply if heavier products (clay, plaster, reams of paper etc) or large equipment (desks, cabinets etc) are ordered, but we will notify you before the invoice is issued and goods are dispatched.
