The ELECFREAKS Retro Arcade for Education introduces learners to programming through designing and playing their own video games.
Using Microsoft MakeCode Arcade, students can create characters, backgrounds and game rules with block-based programming, then transfer their projects to the console to test and play. Activities provide opportunities to explore sequencing, variables and conditional logic while developing problem-solving skills.
The 2.4-inch colour display brings creations to life, while silicone buttons and a compact body make the console comfortable to hold. Built-in features include a light sensor, gyroscope, buzzer and vibration motor for further interactive projects.
LEGO-compatible attachment points allow students to incorporate the console into creative builds. Online tutorials and example games help learners get started, making it a useful resource for classroom coding activities and clubs.
The built-in 560mAh rechargeable battery charges through USB-C.
This is a standalone programming console a micro:bit board is not required.
