The Kitronik Interface Board for BBC micro:bit and Fischertechnik bridges the gap between Fischertechnik STEM kits and the micro:bit, enabling control of motors and components. Powered by a 9V PP3 battery, it provides a regulated 3V supply for the micro:bit and includes a power switch. The board features Fischertechnik-compatible plugs, 2 I/O pins, motor connections, and status LEDs for troubleshooting. Custom MakeCode blocks and MicroPython code are included for easy integration.

    With this kit, students can build three stationary models—a pedestrian signal, hand dryer, and barrier—that are equipped with actuators and sensors. The set also features the new fischertechnik "micro:bit IO F5 adapter," which provides 8 outputs and 6 inputs, enabling control of these simple yet effective demonstration models using the micro:bit board.

    To assist educators and students, a detailed pedagogical manual is available for free download from the fischertechnik eLearning portal. This manual includes setup instructions, a variety of engaging tasks, programming examples, and information on the micro:bit board, the fischertechnik IO adapter, and the Make Code software.

    The set contains 90 parts, including an XS motor, buttons, a photo transistor, LED lights, and a printed building manual. It also comes with a durable storage box that includes a cover sheet and a parts list, ensuring that everything stays organized. Didactic materials and additional resources are readily accessible online to support the learning experience.

    This Kitronik MI:pro Protector Case for the BBC micro:bit has been designed to work with both the original Micro:bit V1and the new Micro:bit V2and continues in the traditions of our earlier cases. The cases are designed to keep the micro:bit safe, fully useable, and to offer the freedom of not being tethered to a computer.

    If a battery holder is attached to the back it can also can be stood neatly on a desk and it also features large and easy to read labels for the A and B buttons. This case provides full access to the bottom pins on the BBC micro:bit so the Edge Connector Breakout Board for the BBC Micro:bit can be used. One of the key features of the micro:bit is its physical size and this case has been designed with that in mind. It's as compact as we could make it, whilst still offering protection for the micro:bit.

    The case is also supplied with a sticky fixer pad so that you can attach a battery holder to the rear of the case, such as can be found in our BBC micro:bit Starter Kit. When a battery holder is used, micro:bit projects can go wherever you go. Even with a battery holder attached, the case is still palm-sized and portable.

    Kitronik :GAME Controller for micro:bit

    The Kitronik :GAME Controller for the BBC micro:bit is a retro gaming accessory for the BBC microbit. It is a programmable gamepad-style controller enabling a better gaming experience on the micro:bit itself, or the ability to control other devices over micro:bit radio.

    The :GAME Controller is similar in design and features to the the :GAME ZIP 64, only without the ZIP LED screen. This offers great value if the micro:bits own LED matrix is sufficient for the game or when it will be used to control other devices such as robots and buggies. It will also be much lighter on power consumption than its larger/older sibling.

    It features on-board sound, 4 x directional buttons, 2 fire buttons, haptic feedback, and breakout points so shoulder buttons can be added. All of these features are fully programmable. The board is powered by two AA batteries, which also power the attached micro:bit.

    The micro:bit connects to the board via the Edge Connector on the :GAME Controller. The micro:bit should be inserted firmly into the edge connector, ensuring that the micro:bit LED display is facing in the same direction as the front of the :GAME Controller.

    Note: Care should be taken when using the external breakouts for pins 19 and 20 as GPIOs, as this can cause issues with the I2C devices on the micro:bit itself (e.g. compass and accelerometer). The BBC microbit is NOT included.
