Fimo
FIMO was the first modelling clay that could be hardened in the oven. The clay was developed in the mid-20th century. Back then, world-renowned doll maker, Käthe Kruse, set out to develop a suitable clay that could be used to model dolls’ heads with as much detail as possible. These clays are not just ideal for art, spare time and hobbies, but also for teaching purposes for crafting in kindergartens or schools. Not only do they encourage children to develop creativity and imagination, but also their spatial reasoning and fine motor skills.
The hardened modelling clay can be varnished with special FIMO lacquers and painted with suitable pens or with suitable plasticiser-resistant acrylic and oil paints.There is also a range of Fimo air-drying clays.
